The total depth is two inches and the divider is a leather covered expandable piece that can be removed or left in the lower compartment.

clubfoot, could you post some more pics with it open? For some reason I can't grasp how it works exactly.

Thanks Clubfoot for posting the pictures. Your shots are much more useful than the small picture on the L-Tuned website.

I noticed you removed the entire console cover. Is that a necessary step in the installation? If so, how hard/easy was it to do?

Many thanks!!

What happens to the power outlet? I use mine to charge my phone and I put my sunglasses in the overhead compartment.

The wood trim in the IS is a paper thin veneer of real wood glued to a backing and coated with a high gloss finish.

Can your charger use the power outlet in the arm rest?

The power outlet is disconnected and tie wraped. You will have to use the one in the arm rest, unless you move the power outlet to the passanger side and put one of those black safety caps on it.

I have NOT been able to locate a "little lever" hence I have not been able to remove the ash tray in my 250AWD. Where is it? A picture would help, but I will settle for a clear description.

There is a picture in the owners manual. The lever is normally used to eject the ash tray so that you can dump the cigarette butts. (Yuck, the thought of those gross things in my car, now where is the smiley vomiting icon?)

Kinda tight. It's a shame the power outlet wasn't 90 degrees in the arm rest so it can be closed while in use. I'd have to buy an extension with a wire and another female port to lay it over. I'm sure the ipod'ers are struggling with that issue.

Years ago I hid the controller to a CD changer in a compartment similar to the IS'. Fabricated a plate to mount it and then the door would close over the controller so no one could tell it was custom. Good thing I don't smoke.

Motorola makes a charger for the Razr that fits with the lid closed, so there are a few things short enough.

Checking in from beyond time lol

You likely already have a "coin holder" in the dash on the left side behind the steering wheel. You can get more of those plug-ins from ebay. Mine came with one.
