i was looking at my navi yesterday and zoomed very far out and notice there were airplanes flying around, thought it was very cool...........has anybody else seen this yet?

 

Are you sure it's just not Airport POI icons?

 

hahaha, hahaha is he serious, i mean, REALLY!? that is sooo cool

just kidding those are deff. the airport icons, it would not have near enough room to fit in all the airplanes flying at the same time...but it would be cool if it could...

although in my recent flight they did have a gps screen showing were the airplane was and how fast we were going...pretty cool.

 

umm i dont think POI icons show over a certain zoom...

 

I've noticed this too. They are not the POI's, I checked (POI's look different). When you click on them, all it says is the town name.

 

hahahaha i didnt mean like they were moving but if you'll zoom out you'll see planes and im sure there not poi icons b/c there was like 2 planes right next to each other when i looked.......just thought it was cool, thats all

 

if it is not the aiport icons, then i have no idea, im just sayin, it deff. does not show planes...

You guys, he's not BS-ing! I tried it today and you can really see airplanes! I was skeptical at first but I really saw airplanes. And no...it's not the airport POI because there were several planes in one cluster so I highly doubt there'd be that many airports in one small area.

I just tried it too. Not airport icons... you can't click on them. They're just... planes. And they're just chillin' there. Weird haha.

 

Please post a pic. I zoomed out and all I saw was airport POI icons, and YES there are several small airports clustered together in many urban areas.

 

Just last night as I was driving near LAX an air traffic controller broke in on my ML/NAV and advised me of "traffic, ten-o-clock, altitude unknown". I thanked him and told him I would be looking!!

 

that is funny . . . someone take a pic . . . seriously.

 

Well, I definitely saw an airplane in the middle of a nearby lake.
