Considering IS250AWD
I would just like to ask those owners of the new IS250AWD. I am considering this car as I will need to be driving all over the friggin place for work this year. I've seen the mpg is not much better than my SC300. Any other likes/dislikes people can discuss about this particular car? I'm also looking at used G35x. I won't be selling my car, so the IS would become my daily driver and my SC... well, that'll become my "project" car... All input is appreciated. Thanks.
Love my IS 250 AWD. I haven't driven other AWD sedans (i.e. Audi Quattro's, BMW 3-Series xi's, G35x's, etc.) so I really don't have a comparison to give you but the grip on the road is very nice and handles very well. Your mileage is going to be heavily dependent on how much freeway/stop-and-go driving is. If it's all freeway, I've gotten 26 MPG.
Cheers,
Kermee

Like Kermee i too love my IS. No major complaints here. Depending on your needs it may be a tad small inside ( i dont mind since im by myself 90% of the times when i drive). Quality is there and the performance isnt as bad as most say. good luck
I also concur. The IS is not your transporting kids.family car as much as its more a smaller, sporty fun car. Its a little too small for those purposed. It is a quiet, reliable (so far), and quick daily driver. I dont know how the AWD is going to do in the snow yet (probably great), but it was an outstanding purchase. By far the best car Ive driven and even ridden in.
IS 250AWD is super-quiet while G35 has more exhaust noise, especially when you punch the accelerator; I think the drone of the G35 could become annoying on long drives
The IS250AWD interior is a much higher quality than infiniti G35X - I just could not get past the interior on the G35
Both cars handle very well and are fun to drive - G35 feels like more of a mid-sized or big car; the IS feels more like a BMW 325
better gas mileage on the IS - average 22-23 mpg in mix of city/highway suburban driving; 27-29 on highway runs. My recollection is that the G35X gets 17-20 mpg, a consideration if you drive a lot.
Acceleration-IS 250AWD has plenty of power, but the G35 has more (not a deal breaker for me)
IS ride can be a bit choppy on some some road surfaces; on my test drive of the G35 I had no complaints about the ride
IS has a smaller back seat than the G35--not an issue for me.
Styling - liked the IS styling better; g35 was becoming a bit dated, but new model will be out in the fall.
Quality - While Infinity gets very good marks, I still think Lexus is the class leader.
In the end, it comes down to what features are most important to you. In my case, Lexus came closer to hitting the target.

This Is 250 AWD is my second all wheel drive. I traded in a 2002 Jaguar X-Type which is also AWD. Also a nice car.
This Lexus has many features that were never mentioned by the salesperson so it would be in your best interest to shop around and just let the salespeople tell you everything about the car.
My Lexus has no Navigation but this is by choice. I can give you many personal reasons but it is a personal choice.
MPG has averaged about 21/22 for combined city/highway and about 26/27 on a trip.
Very comfortable and quiet and and fit and finish is 1st rate.
Good luck, it's a fine car.

Loving mine! Just wish it was a 350AWD sometimes since all the newer cars have much more power than the 250. Interior is superb but it is a little tight in the back but just like a lot of people said, people rarely sit in my back seat.

Thanks for all your input. Small inside, cramped back seating area... been there done that with my SC, although I'll assume there is more room in the back then my SC... Glad to see most highway driving yields mid 20mpg. Has anyone been able to appreciate the AWD yet? I'm wondering how that performs?
Do a search on awd in snow, there were some good responses to a question I posed. The reviews were very favorable on the awd performance. I have not been able to verify yet, but am confident that I won't be disappointed.
i average about 25mpg in my is... but like every1 has said it is a lil small but i guess if u don't get in the back seat it ain't gonna bother u... but after driving the is then getting into my gs ... the gs feels like a big boat
