Default The 2IS Curse

A curse, bad luck, whatever you want to call it on the 2IS has stricken me.

Saturday, May 6th. Parked in a corner of a parking lot where there weren't many people. Went inside a restaurant to eat. By the time I left the amount of people have increased, and so has the number of cars. So I went back to my car, the lot was basically full by now, and found a dent on my hood. WTF! Anger, frustration...you know, the works.

Someone hit and ran my car, left a sizable dent on my hood and me weeping (not literally). So I took it to a car wash, washed it, and realize hey, not too bad I suppose. It hit and ripped the 3M bra, but didn't damage the paint whatsoever. So I got a friend to see if he can fix it, he said he'll do it after hours at work and cost me $100. But replacing the 3M will cost roughly $200-$300.

Still a pain in the ***. And also, one of my ballast blew or something went haywire on my MTEC HIDs. So, left me with warranty work to handle. Great...now I have to take the HIDs out, buy replacement dust covers for the headlights (since I drilled holes in mine for the HIDs) so I don't get condensation, take off the front bumper to get to where I relocated the ballast (on the re-bar) and send it back to distributor so he can send it back to manufacturer, BLAH BLAH BLAH!

That happened 2 weeks ago, haven't had time to take them out yet so, driving around with only fogs cause I hate having just one headlight on, looks too ghetto.

Sorry for the rant...gotta get it out of my system.

Damn dude, sorry to hear that...

Don't worry, youre not alone... April 29th... Hoboken, NJ during the day... parking garage... This is what I came back to...

Someone either took a fist or a bat to the rear pillar on the passenger side of my car... almost $1000 to fix cause I can not find a dent specialist who thinks its possible to just pop it out.

ugh...

At least I get my car back when I come home from a business trip in SC this Saturday!

Hey how do you just turn on the fog lights? I thought I tried and wasnt able to get the fogs to come on unless I have the headlights on also.

For those of you who have had your car vandalized, were you taking up two spaces, or anything else that might have irritated passersby?

When my car was broken into, it was parked in my empty work parking lot all by itself.

OUCH! As bad as it is, it's only temporary.

Good luck with the fix. I hope all goes well.

I didn't take up two stalls, I parked in the corner with fences on the rear and driver side of the car. And I parked into the corner more to the point where I had trouble getting out of the car because of the fence.

And for those inquiring about the fogs, I disconnected the headlights by pulling out the fuse. So at night, I still turn the headlights on with the fogs, but obviously the headlights not going to come on because I don't like to drive with only one headlight, like I mentioned. No fancy tricks, not a re-wiring job I've done, just something for now until I get new HIDs.

Nah Bichon... nothing at all... I actually parked at the end of a line of cars so I figured my ride side would have been much safer than my left since the driver side was parked next to a car... I didn't park in a ghetto lot either... this one was across the street from the Hoboken Police station and I parked next to a E36 BMW that was in great shape. I definately don't think I was asking for it which ticks me off even more

I'm still surprised that no one in town can pop that out for you. It's a similar dent to mine, just in a different location. Maybe it's because of the contour of that area of the pillar. Still, you'd think someone could do it. Oh well, good luck with the repairs.

i feel your pain...my car was egged. It left some bad circles of chips taken out of the paint. It was almost as if the damn eggs were frozen.

Yeah, the contoured line that travels along the pillar of the car is the main issue... no guy or shop I've spoken with feel confident enough to get that line back to being as straight and even as it was. In addition, its packed behind a friggin airbag... so thats a whole other issue
