Default Mark Levinson DVD Region Lock?

I figured I would post here, instead of the audio forum.

I was curious, does anyone know if the Mark Levinson DVD playback is region locked on the 2IS?

Has anyone tried inserting a Region 2 DVD for example?

I don't have the IS yet, so no way for me to try it.

Anyone wanna try for me? If your local, can I borrow your car for 2 minutes so I can put in a non-region 1 DVD?

I brought back a DVD from Japan and when I put it in my ML it says Region Code Error and will not play. So when I put the DVD in my Mac, I have to change the DVD player (you only get 4 times) and then I can copy.

FWIW, there are tools that will strip the region from the disc and you can burn your own copy. I have to do this with my jpop dvds. glad dvdr's are cheap nowadays

You can use DVD Shrink to change the region code and burn a new copy. Go to www.torrentspy.com to download it.

Well if you google it, I'm sure you can find something to act as a decrypter to let fab your own dvd.

*pop'ers gotta stick together

I just ordered another load of stuff from yesasia, so I'll be doing this soon . Alot of those concerts and stuff will never be offered in Region 0 or 1

All I can say is her name is Chae Yeon in Korea and Ayumi in Japan. So this is going off topic a bit so....

Yes I've already burned the region DVD so I can play the new DVD in my car now but I use the Mac (iDVD) and have been using some other tools including something to put them on my iPod so it's all good. I've always fab'd and decrypted on the pc but I thought I could somehow change the DVD itself so I can use it instead of a burned copy.

And I'm a BT fan myself (for TV shows) but that's hard work.

Mac the Ripper to rip and Miraizon Cinematize to create your own DVD mixes on the Mac for region free custom DVDs. Good to see fellow Mac users here.

I admit this is a bit OT from 2IS and the OP's topic but I just saw the words "KPOP" and "JPOP" show up. I have... well had... access to a bunch of Korean and Japanese HD feeds from overseas and kept some music stuff to demo HDTV materials in my HT. I can't understand a word they say but it was great HDTV HT demo material for guests.

I'm just curious, is this what you guys are referring to when you say KPOP and JPOP? I'm assuming this would be considered KPOP since it's off HD SBS... I have other music off of NHK...

Cheers,
Kermee
