Choked down, turns over, won't crank.
Hi all. Would appreciate some help.
I have a 2009 IS250, don't drive it much, maybe 2 to 3 times per week. I moved it across my yard Sunday before last and parked it fine. When I cranked it up to move it back later in the day, it was sluggish like, i parked it, gave it a little gas to see if it would come around but it choked down. Cranked it again, it choked down again. Almost like it ran out of gas but it has 3/4 tank. Now it turns over but won't start at all. Fuel pump sounds fine and had pressure, took plugs out and it was firing, loosened high pressure fuel pump and gas shot out of it. Scanned it and no codes came up, pulled ground cable to reset and still nothing. We sprayed carb and choke cleaner in throttle body and still nothing. Oil reads fine. Really stumped here. NOTE, it did this same thing about a year ago. We towed it to a local shop and they said it was out of gas. The display said it had 44 miles to go but they filled it up and it's been fine until now. That was an expensive tank of gas. Anybody got any clues.

Best bet is pull the fuel pump module out. Back seat drivers side. Remove to see if there is fuel in tank, or add some fuel like mentioned.

After doing above steps, charge the battery, grab some starting fluid, remove the flex hose at the air cleaner, spray a few seconds of starting fluid into the hose and quickly shove it back together minus tightening the clamp.
Sprint to the drivers seat and try and start it while pressing the gas pedal down. Like from idle to 1/2.
Did it start?
If it doesn't start, repeat above steps 1 time and report back.

Found our issue
Just FYI, we ended up taking it to a mechanic friend and found it had lost compression because of carbon build up on the valve. With the direct injection engines seems like this is a possibility and should be part of normal maintenance every 50k miles. Lesson learned.
