I just saw a Mercedes C200 and Chevrolet Traverse have one feature where the lights (both xenon and rear lights) stay on for a while after the driver exits his/her car even after locking their doors with the remote.
It's pretty cool.I envy those guys with this feature. I don't think our IS's have this right ?
mine does.... even my is300 did this.
press lock a second time and it turns off the lights.
any reason why I cant lock the doors from outside when the car is running, i want to go in wawa while the car is warming up, I was able to do it in my Infiniti? thanks

The default is to only unlock the Driver door, but usually I'm with other people and I'd like all the doors to unlock without me having to grab the remote and hit unlock while walking up to the car. So you can program it to do this.

Definitely love just touching the back of the door, i usually grasp the handle and wave my thumb gently across the button (without pressing it), feels very intuitive and natural,
As to this option, I hadn't looked into it but definitely nice to know it's there if I settle down and make it a family car. Right...

I think it's to keep you from locking your keys in the car, you can just lock them manually though. Be careful though, it's illegal to idle in the WaWa (or any) parking lot in NJ now

Yeah it makes it impossible for you to lock your keys in your car this way.
You can still lock it with the button on the fob, just not with the button on the door.
That said, idling is terrible for a car engine...the best way, by far, to warm up a car is to drive it.
It is standard on my 2010 IS. I had the dealer turn it off.
Me too. I didn't like the headlight being on even after I lock the vehicle. Made me worry that I forgot to turned it off. And My home and work parking area is all well lit. So no headlight delay for me. Turned it off at dealership.
worked on my 11 is350-f.
about a 5 second hold on the remote for me until 2 sets of double beeps is heard.
does anyone know if I have remote window down on the 11? from what I read the older models have it but I am holding the dumb unlock button and nothing happens?
Well dang... I guess I must be doing something wrong.
For like the past week or so, my car has not been unlocking when I walk up to the door handle. I figured I must have accidentally changed something. Today, I see this thread and figure let me go try it out. My car, btw is a 2012 iS350.
First, I pressed the lock button, held it, then pressed the unlock button for about 5 seconds. I heard 3 sets of 2 beeps. Then I tried the door handle and nothing.
So, I tried it again. This time, I pressed both lock and unlock at the same time and held them for about 5 seconds. I heard 2 sets of 2 beeps. Then, tried the door handle and nothing.
Not sure what the deal is. Why does this not work for me?
ANy ideas on this guys? I tried it again today holding the lock and unlock buttons together for 5 seconds or so until the 3 sets of double beeps. Still nothing. I tried this with doors locked and with doors unlocked. No difference.
