Default Arrival of 2007 model?

When should we expect the 2007s to be available at local dealerships. I'm about to special order a is250 with 6 speed and nav but wondering if i should hold off until the 2007s come out. I was told that they dont take special orders for 2007 until the car arrives making that a extra 3-4 month wait after the car is available. Is this true or is the sales guy just trying to get me to place the order now?

There is no expected change from 2006 to 2007...they are usually always carryovers. Correct it generally takes 3-4 months to do a special order. You could wait for the 2007 to roll around, but that wont be available until the first week of September.

Im going through the same thing right now. You should be able to order 2007s beginning in June, for a Sept arrival. Keep in mind you'll probably pay more.

I just bought my '06 350 because I wanted it now, and because I am expecting some sort of price increase in '07, and probably another mid year.

Same with the 2007 ES350 just now hitting dealer lots. But we're talking about the IS250/350.

Hey is the base price for the 06 IS models gonna drop when the 07s come out? cuz if so i might as well wait for the 07 to come out and then buy myself the 06.

anyone know the difference on between the upcoming 07 and the current 06? i heard theres gonna be a VDIM button to turn it on and off. (something i dont really want cuz im all for safety and less thrills)

I've got the build out dates for 2006 models somewhere at work... retail date is the same as most of the other 2007 models they should be in the country by the last week of August and be out for retail about 2 weeks after that. I'll be interested to see what the scoop is with the GS350 and how the AWD works in that... could be a good indicator of what an IS350 AWD would be like.

Of course you will get breaks (not much if it's something high demand) on the remaining 06 to clear out for the 07 models around August into September 2006.

There will be no changes from 2006 as it will be a carryover. The "VDIM" switch off is heresay although there is already a temporary TRAC/VSC disable which does not turn off VDIM.

What about XM being offered from the factory with a fixed antenna? XM mentions it in press releases as being available starting with the 2007 models, although they don't say which vehicles (all we know for sure is the LS). With Infiniti offering this (as well as NavTraffic) on the new G35 I would think Lexus would move on this sooner rather than later. Have you heard anything?

NavTraffic is only available with XM. Here is a press release issued during the NY Auto Show. The new LS will have it, as will the Acura RDX and new G35. The Acura RL and Cadillac CTS already offer it.

http://www.xmradio.com/newsroom/scre...06_04_13a.html

Here is a description:

"Using XM's coast-to-coast satellite signal, the XM NavTraffic service continuously delivers traffic data directly to GPS navigation systems. XM NavTraffic data enables an overlay of color-coded traffic flow information on the navigation map, indicating how fast the traffic is currently moving on the driver's personal route. Accidents and road construction are identified on the map by icons. XM NavTraffic can show at-a-glance traffic conditions between driver and destination, allowing the driver to avoid a jam before getting caught in traffic."

Here is the website:

I sure hope Lexus offers XM from the factory on the IS for 2007!
