Default 2007 or 2006 IS 350???

Hey guys,

I could use your opinion and advice. I want to purchase an IS 350 but it'll take me maybe 4-6 weeks to have it. Should I get the 06 version which will might take a month or so to get or be patient and wait for the 07 Is to come out. Does anybody have any info/pics on the 07 IS 350? Thanx in advance

At the NY Auto Show, I learned an 07 change is the addition of a switch to turn the vehicle dynamic control on and off. Right now, Lexus doesn't let the driver turn it off.

Hmm how credible is the source? There is a way to partially disable it currently.

If that is true, maybe it can be added on/programmed into the 06's...

Leave alone the VDIM thing, the '07 IS's will certainly have less "new model bugs" than the '06. They might cost more, however.

Not to be a wiseass, but all the pics/info for the 07 are listed at lexus.com...just check out the 2006 IS.....My point being, get the car when the time is right for you, no reason to wait if you dont have to...the car is going to largely remain unchanged for the next several years..barring any addition models, which is all speculation at this point. Only reason you may want to wait would be til the end of the year when maybe you can get a little better price on an 06...but thats obviously 8 months from now. By that time the 07s will be out.

This is my email to Lexus about 2007 IS350

My question:

I was wondering what are going to be the changes for 2007 model and when will it be released. My most important question is that I would be able to turn off VDIM, will there be a factory XM radio install. Any other expected changes?

The answer:

Thank you for contacting Lexus Customer Satisfaction. We are dedicated to providing superior service. We appreciate your interest in the 2007 IS350, however we do not have any information on that future model vehicle at this moment.

Information on the 2007 IS350 will be available closer to the launch date. Typically the new models arrive in the fall.

We are committed to manufacturing high quality vehicles that exemplify innovative design, styling, dependability and durability. In an effort to maintain the quality that is evident in our previous vehicle models, we continue to pay close attention to the detail in our future models.

Again, thank you for your interest!

If you require further assistance, please respond to this e-mail, or contact Lexus Customer Satisfaction at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 am to 6:00 pm, or Saturday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Pacific Standard Time.

Sincerely,

S. Kim

I've never regretted buying first model year cars. You get a whole year of being "the first on the block." Not to sound vain, but next year the G35 coupe is gonna be the big thing and they'll be a ton of IS250's rolling around. If the time is right, you should buy, not waiting for some magical "can't live w/o" option to appear in the '07's

yea... read the recent posts about how there will not be any changes in the 2007.

to me, it makes sense. I hate when they change stuff.... it makes you mad when you didnt wait.
