Default Scroll through Ipod menu's while driving?

Hey guys,

I just got a nano today and it works good in the car but:

How do you guys search for songs while driving? After reading through all the ipod threads it looks like you have to pick it up and scroll through the menu's

I live in Jersey so I'm totally positive that as soon as I look down at the IPOD to change songs some moron in front of me will make a left.

Is that what all you guys are doing?

Thanks

Basically, yes. Trick is to use playlists to minimize unnecessary fiddling.

this is just an audio in jack. it can only send music through the aux in (think about it, it's just an 1/8 jack). you have to control the music from the ipod (or whatever mp3 player you are using) itself

if driving conditions do not permit you to look down, you'll need to have a cable long enough so that you can raise your ipod to eye level extended out in front of you between your eyes and the windshield and scroll, that way you don't have to look down and you can still see the traffic ahead of you while looking past the ipod. same thing works with mobile phones.

Most of the time I use shuffle play (I have about 9,000 songs). If I don't like the song it picks I just click next (no looking required). I also created some smart playlists for my podcasts.

I can't say I've never looked at my iPod (even up at eye level) but it is very dangerous. I'm really trying not to do it anymore.
