Default Re-paint

Just out of curiousity.......
How much would it cost to get the car repainted.....I am starting to get a lot of scratches (I do not know where they are coming from) so it just got me to thinking about how much something like that would cost. I am not really considering it, just curious. I know for sure, however, that I am kind of regreting getting blue onyx because everything shows up.

brewkp4-
I was interested in finding out if you have a clear bra on you car and where the scratches are showing up. My car will be here soon and I wanted to know if the extra $500-600 is worth it.

That seems a bit excessive.

"Pearl" paint jobs cost about $700-900.

I agree, almost impossible to get a decent paint job for under $3,000...In my
area it'd be more in the range of $5,000- $6,000

Yeah, I was going to say to get a professional paint job on your car including jams and engine compartment is going to be around $5,000.

Now, as a follow up question....at a good paint shop would they have any difficulty getting close to the original color? Also, would they be able to change my blue onyx to crystal white?

If the scratches arent too deep, go to a really good detail shop and have them buff them out. If they are bad scratches then yea 3000-5000 sounds about right. Also they can make your car any color you want (blue to white) if you have enough money.

The ones that are killing me the most are not deep at all. Hopefully the detail shop can buff them out. I am pretty sure these scratches are from getting my car washed or people wipping the dust/dirt off my car with their fingers. I used a California Duster after getting my car washed today- because I wanted to get the leftovers from the towels that were used to dry my car off and that is when I noticed the deep scratches. I get the feeling it was from my California Dust; perhaps, something was caught up in the duster and it was dragged across my car in two or three spots. I stopped using the duster immediately. I am not really thinking about getting my car repainted unless it starts to really get out of control and it becomes necessary.

But always remember when you repaint a pretty new car, your car will depreciate a lot.

$700 paint job... yeah that would look greatt on my 2006 IS.

To get rid of the scratches use Meguire Showcar glaze

1) Fine Cut Cleaner, use terry towels to put on, and terry towels to take off
2) Meguires Showcar glaze, terry towel on, polish cloth off
3) Meguires NXT wax, wax applicator on, terry cloth off.

Since your car is new you dont need fine cut cleaner.

Its likely scratches will return during your next 2-3 washes. good luck!

if the scratch is not too bad, not deep a good detail will do the job.

those light scratch comes from car wash, and sands on the road, you will get it over the time.

a complete pain job is lot of money it ranges from 3000 Can to 8000 Can dollars.

it depend on the color, and quality.

to get a color change will cost you a lot more money, you will need to take many panels off the car to get to those nasty door jams and under the hood.

try to detail the car first, try not to paint the car.
