Actually the engine should be rated at 314 HP had it not been for the new SAE standards. See the below article for an in depth discussion of the 2GR-FSE (If you look at the charts comparing the DI with the combined DI and PI you will see the hybrid injection sees a 7% gain which, oh by the way, equals our magical horsepower difference):
