new HIDs on IS350
These are the MTEC 6000k H11 HIDs. At first I thought I could fit the ballasts but turns out people were right, there is so little room! Anyhow, I managed but now found out that the ballasts produce a louder whine than a friends 330ci. Not a big deal. Also, Im having a hard time reusing the plastic clips that are used for the engine covers. Im about to give up unless someone knows a trick to stick those things back in...
On to the pics!

looks excellent!
these cars should have come standard with XENON....it looks so great on them!
I broke about 5 of the clips....some autoparts stores sell similar clips....but I ordered 10 of the original clips from my dealer because I wanted them to match EXACTLY....just got them last Friday.

I agree that the 350 should have come standard with HIDs. Anyhow, the color is a borderline diamond white and sky blue. I think others who installed HIDs had pictures that made it look green. Maybe it's my second gen digital camera =/, but they are pretty blue. I think the MTEC kit goes for 330ish on ebay. Now with these HIDs, my fogs look really yellow! Before they were whiter than the halogens...heh.
I've taken my clips on and off at least 10 times.
To take them off, you just have to push that little button in the middle.
To put them back in: grab the claw side of the clip, grab two opposite sides of the claw and pull them apart and at the same time, push it up into the hole. Once the clip is reset (it will look compressed) place it back into the hole it clips into, then push the button back down until it is flush and it clicks. Make sure you don't push it all the way down so it unlocks again.

I just took a good look at the kits.........
They are using the old Phillips ballasts in the kits. They slapped an MTEC sticker over the OE Phillips data plate........
Just thought I'd throw that out there....

I'd say its a good thing, from what I understand there are many cheaper kits out there using no-name ballasts. The Philips is used as OE by many vendors. I'd like to see a kit using Denso/Koito ballasts, but have yet to see one for H11.
The newer Philips kits use thinner ballasts, but need separate igniters. The old Philips ballasts are a tried/true design.
