I'm doing the same. I use the motorcycle though on clear days, which we haven't had in L.A. for a bit. I've had my car for 6 weeks and it has 2600 miles on it.

Don't worry about the mileage of your car too much; it's what it's for. Unless if you are leasing it. Just drive it and enjoy it.

I had my car since December, had 4600 miles on it right now, and it has the warning light to remind me to do the oil change

When mine arrives, 160 miles a day all highway. Something like 35,000 a year. It's going to depreciate like a rock, but I'll be riding in style for the next few years. I'll probably just replace the engine and suspension in 6+ years, since the body and interior should still be good. Should be a good car for my daughter at that time. Looked at cars like the TC which is much cheaper and would have been easier to stomach the depreciation, but the IS was just so much quieter on the highway yet was fun in the twisties on the weekends (I would have gotten a used LS430 if quite was my main consideration). I was even close to a reliable beater and a weekend Porsche. If my order gets screwed up, then that's the route I'll turn to. Salesman used to call/email daily, now since the money is down, all I hear is crickets...

Well i Guess we are going be one of the Few that will get 100k in 5yr time.

I was looking at KBB, 2001 IS300 with 100k in good condition is still about $15k does that sounds right?

IF i could sell this in 5yr for that amount it would be great thats if i sick of it.

Thanks for the response CL members

I probably drive 15-20 miles on a weekday, so between 10K and 12K per year. Living 6 miles from work helps.

Geez..I drive 60 miles on the weekdays its the weekend driving that pile up the miles. I have had the car for 7 weeks and I have 4500 miles. That's 33,000 a year which means I will go trough my extended warranty of 100,000 miles in 3 years, its suppose to last 7 years . I need a daily beater.
