don't know if I like it or not.....or if I'll keep it on there.
its the front plate holder mounted upside down to the front grill with 4 zip ties...I put some plastic spacers in there to keep it safely away front the front bumper.

Looks clean. I would protect the top border of the plate though as that may scratch the paint. Perhaps some type of felt sticky at the back corners of the plate?

Great find. Similar to what we do for the Gen 1 IS...utilizing the stock front license plate mount in the same fashion.

LOL. I too was looking into alternate mounting location for the front plate. I placed my plate against the front grill and soon realized it will break the nice front look. I do not want to put the license plate on but if I get pulled over, I may just use the intended mounting location.

put some kinda tape or whatever to keep the sharp sheet metal edges of the license plate from touching the car

Just leave the plate off. In CA, it's a $10 ticket (i've had a 2 or 3 over the last 6 years). If ticketed, mount plate...go to DMV or Sherrif station....have them sign off ticket...mail copy of ticket and a check for $10 to the court house. Done. Mild inconvenience, however, chances of being pulled over for it are low.

I agree with the low chances of getting pulled over. I think I will take that chance. If I do get pulled over, it's nice to know I can do this mount temporarily to get the ticket signed off.

I'm in Calif also. I am going to go with out the front plate for as long as I can. I have friends who have gone for over 6 years without a front plate on their car. They've had no problems.

One isn't normally pulled over for no front license plates. It's one of those ancillary goodies you get to go along with your speeding ticket :-)

qft, I am still undecided but since I'll be transfering my custom plates on to this car i don't think it's as bad as the random number generic plate.
