To those who got the dead pedal installed successfully,
I just tried with a long stem screwdriver in order to pry the original dead pedal out but it seems that the plastic fastener is too tight to be removed when prying it. Is there any tricks?
Also to those who used brute force, did you actually get the original dead pedal damaged a bit in order to make it work?
Any response/help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Just figured how to take off the original dead pedal.
I ended up using the brute force without any screwdrivers. It was much easier than I thought.
It is much easier to use the brute force on a pedal which is actually on the car rather than trying it on a pedal detached.
Took some pictures.
The car without the pedal. I can testify that the insulation under the carpet is very very thick!
Due to the poor lighting and the angle, you won't see the white clips inside the holes..

Look what I have got...
I ended up using Darrel's original method to take off the pedal as I was concerned about messing up the springs inside the accelerator pedal assembly. I bought a very small rachet set and it really worked.
I partially took off the plastic panel under the knee airbag to squeege more room. Then I tried to see how tight the washer (Note: not a screw) on the left lower corner on the L logo plate was. Then with my fingers of both hands feeling where the top right screw was, I was able to place the small rachet on the screw to release it. As soon as I got the rachet on that right top washer (see the pictures), the rest was pretty straight forward. You just have to be very careful not to drop the washer somewhere behind the carpet material.
Another thing is you have to take off the connector and the plug before removing the entire accelerator assembly out. You don't need any tool to detach the connnector. Just press the tab and separate them.
I still have to get the pin out from the pedal..Looks like I can see my sports pedals completed soon.
