Default LoJacK on IS350??

Those that have taken delivery of their IS350, I was wondering if the dealership offered Lo-Jack to you or not. Is it available? Worth it? Any opinions?

With the new Smart Key technology, how would someone steal this car anyway? Seems like a waste to me. There is no door lock to pick, if they smash the window, there is no ignition to pick either. My bet is that car thiefs would rather look elsewhere than mess with the IS350. Besides, when was the last time you ever saw a Lexus on the Top 15 cars stolen in America?

So instead of breaking in to steal it they will just tow it! LOL... There is always a way. LoJack isn't the full-proof answer to the stolen vehicle. I personally have it installed on all of my cars but when all is said and done I will rely on my insurance company.

Oh and yes, the dealership did offer me LoJack at a higher price. I had them negotiate the standard package into the deal.

I never really understood LoJack for people that have comprehensive insurance. It's a waste of money in that case.

That's what insurance is for. If the car is stolen, you'll get a new car. Why would you want the old car back after it was likely driven like hell and potentially partially disassembled?

well when i got my last car, they guy offered me lojack for 350$ or something like that. and for having that lojack option, i got a lot of discount from the insurance. basically, i got that lojack for free.

Do you really want your car back if it gets stolen? I sure as hell don't. I'll just collect the insurance and move on.

lojack also has a another service called early warning. if the car seperates from a transmitter (that you would be holding)... then they will contact you by phone, text, and a few other ways if you wish.

also, for those saying thats what insurance is for... it hurts to have your car stolen and vanadlised. if i can get it back in one piece (or if it wont take much to put it back to one piece) then i want it back. this is what happened to my last car:

i wish it would of had lojack

Yeah, which is exactly why I DON'T want it back. The amount of damage your average thief is going to do in even an hour makes me cringe. I'd rather it got lost for good.

Yeah, great. Then it's the call to the police and the ins. co., and then maybe they find it, and maybe it's still as pristine as it was before... but I doubt it. High speed chase anyone?. I still don't want it back!

Just a warning, there is a door lock to pick on the IS to get inside the vehicle. Go through your manual.

Some poor CL member had his car broken into when they removed the cover and jammed it open. When it's jammed open, all the windows and the moonroof fully open. The thieves knew what they were doing.

Cheers,
Kermee

I don't want my car back since it's body parts are missing.... no point.

Plus it will not save you much from the Insurance company...
