It is the persistant , stubborn guys like dmacneill that get the car they want and will not "take 'em the way they build 'em".

Basicly, the handwriting was on the wall from the begining because the sheets that dealers got listing options showed a stand alone ML and both Edmunds and MSN auto show ML being a standalone. IMO, Lexus just decided to keep the information of thier website and told the customer service reps to push the package (ML + NAV) to rake in a bit more profit and limit the "standard build" variations from the factory.
I think you are exactly right. When I told my salesperson that I wanted the ML without the NAV, he said he could order the car any way I wanted it so long as the option was available on the dealer's options sheet. He showed me the list of options and the stand-alone ML option was there. Since that was exactly what I wanted, I didn't mind the wait to get it.

Well, I finally got a response (NOT from Tyrone. I wonder if he was fired, haha...)

Funny that he recommends we "visit the website" for up-to-date information, when the website is obviously wrong about this too...

Response (James McGee) 02/23/2006 04:19 PM Dear Customer:

Regarding the VIN, J**************54, that you provided to Lexus Customer Satisfaction, our records indicate that this is a 2006 IS 250 equipped with the Mark Levinson Premium Package, without the Navigation System.

We apologize for any confusion. Vehicle options and packages vary geographically and will also change due to production cycles. We recommend that you visit our website to see what options and packages are currently available in your location. You can also contact your Lexus Dealership to assist you with finding the Lexus IS 350 with the packages you are seeking.

If you require further assistance, please respond to this e-mail, or contact Lexus Customer Satisfaction at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time.

Sincerely,

James McGee
Lexus Customer Satisfaction
