Car nickname
Have you or your significant other nicknamed your IS?
We call ours "Isis"
It's a play on the model designation "IS" and a reference to the Egyptian goddess of life and magic -- apropos for a car that recognizes its owner approaching, automatically lights the puddle lamps and unlocks the doors. The star of Isis is Sirius, the dog star. Ties into our love of four-leggeds, and you can guess which satellite radio system I plan to install.

After last week when my garage door's spring snapped and went flying, and somehow
didn't touch the car, I'm naming her "Lucky"...
Needless to say,i then replaced both springs, all pulleys and cable wires, leaving
no more chances to luck..

My IS350 (expected to arrive between 2/9 and 2/15!) is going to be named Vera. She is being named after Vera Carp, my favorite character from the "Greater Tuna" trilogy of plays. The inspiration to name the car after Vera Carp came from this line in an LA Times review of the new IS: "The cat's-eye headlights are right off Grandma's nightstand." http://www.latimes.com/classified/au...-home-highway1

My girlfriend has approved the name Vera, I think because it's a somewhat less sexy name than Simone, my old car. (She was named after singer Nina Simone.) My gf was always jealous of Simone.

I have this in the other thread but just so you know, her name is Shakira Bagira the **** Bag.
I have a Blue Onyx IS250 and she looks like Bagira from the jungle book. The rest of her name came by means of a drunken group effort.
