Default When is the 2007 IS 350 coming out?

Does anyone know the release date of the 2007 version of the Lexus IS? Has anyone asked the dealers about the date?

it should be in august/sept/oct like a normal release since it's not anything new (except maybe a few more standard features and a slight msrp bump of $200-$400)

From everything I've seen should be mid to late September and I can't remember the exact increases, but I did just see that and it didn't appear to be that far off from xravexboix's estimate....

who would buy the 2007 after just getting the 2006 unless there were substantial upgrades at a much less cost?

but it's getting late in the year and if you are still buying the 2006 at cost past mar/apr/may when the 2007 is coming in sept, personally i think that isn't a very good idea.

i think i am going to consider the 2008 or 2009 personally.

People who don't want the "first year/model bugs" would wait to buy the 2007.

No offense, but I find it impossible to believe that Lexus has already determined the price increase for the 2007s. That is eight months away! If Lexus does things as they always have, expect the price increase to be announced in a press release maybe in August at the earliest.

Yeah, at which point the business gives the number to the marketing department. I'm reasonably sure that Lexus knew what they were going to sell the car for before they started building it. To do otherwise would be an invitation to disaster.

Bugs are fixed throughout production as they become uncovered, not necessarily at yearly intervals. Wouldn't make sense for Lexus to churn out more "buggy" cars, thus more problems to fix under warranty, until the next model year when a problem is discovered early in the year. If you are more interested in updates/upgrades or more features for free, there will always be more with subsequent model years. The last production year probably gives you the most bang for the buck, if you don't mind watching new cars come out the following year.

The price increase is just a guess since most models do increase in price anywhere from $0 to $500 due to unexpected costs or added features that become standard since everyone seems to be ordering it anyhow. Let's use 100 cars total to me made this week... just to have a nice round number. It would be cheaper (per unit cost) to order 100 rear sunshades than it would be to order 60 rear sunshades. It would be a smart move IF the market demand of the vehicle itself remains constant (which is probably will due to the value) and the $400 price increase would be warranted for that $900 or so (retail) part. That's obviously a stupid feature I used as an example but I'm sure you get it ^_^

I'm crossing my fingers for the coupe announcement... my car is due in any day now >_<
