Default Adaptive HeadLights

Those of you in the Tri-state area should have noticed all the fog today,
it gives you the chance to see the adaptive headlights in action. I saw
them shift as i made every turn,, pretty cool, but seems useless to me, anyone
agree?

I'm not in the Tri state area but, I've got the adaptive headlights too. The left light is cool because it turns 15 degrees. But the right light is useless because it only turns 5 degrees. I don't understand why Lexus did that. Why not make them both turn 15 or more degrees??

the right light turns less because the driver sits on the left (in right-hand-drive cars it would be the opposite) so a smaller angle is needed to accomplish the same field of vision. ALL adaptive headlights are designed this way (go check out Acura, MB, BMW web sites, although some right lights turn as much as 10 degrees), it's not a Lexus idiosyncracy. I see the adaptive light function a lot; it's subtle, and that's good--turn too much and you start compromizing the straight-ahead view (not to mention people wonder if your headlights are out of aim).

there are a bunch of photo shots of this already on the board. People showing their HID or their aftermarkets. If you search, you probably will find it.

I don't think that anyone had posted pictures of their OEM HID pattern.

The lights are cool..I didn't know if they were gonna be visible but they are. I think they can be useful especially driving out in the middle of nowhere where there is less visibility.

The adaptive headlights are crazy. I love them even if some of you think they are useless. All of my passengers notice the crazy light action and they love it.

I agree one of the best features on my new car. Then again I dont get a new car every couple years, so this is my first car with adaptive lights. I love a hard sharp turn at night, just to see the lights come back to center!

Yeah! It's like a laser show!
Mine even directly shine a light on nearby animals and people, freezing them in position as to not allow them to jump in front of the car as I drive by—but that's only when I set it to "stun".
