I bought one at Wal-Mart for $19.99 that fits the IS perfectly. It has nearly custom fit form.

$300???? Geezus, that is some serious jack for a car cover.

Default Car Cover

It is a sad reality that for a while I won't be able to garage the beautiful new IS250, so with that in mind, I want to purchase a quality cover.

I live in Irvine, CA, which is about 8 miles from the ocean, so I don't have a concern regarding the air from the ocean, but I want to make sure to protect the car overnight as much as possible.

Can I get a few recommendations on quality, protective covers? The dealer had something for $300, but he couldn't tell me anything. Of course, Costco has something for $30, and it claims to be great, but I don't think it is that good.

Any ideas or links would be great!

Thanks.

Budge-it cover at Wal Mart fits the IS very well. I keep mine garaged, but wanted to cover up the car when the yard man stops by to cut grass. I have a "ventilated" garage which is basically a carport with a garage door. I didn't want grass clippings on my car.

I bought a size 3 at wal mart, and it fits the IS perfectly. Price is $19.99.

for sure would cover the car especially near the ocean.
Ocean air has salt and that could damage your car in the long run.
But i am not 100% sure.

The brand is Budge-It. You won't find it on their website, but you'll see it in the store. Get a size 3 to fit the IS perfectly. The box has a picture of a blue Mustang on the front with a gray cover draped over it.

There are 3 grades ranging from $19.99 to $59.99. The $19.99 version is suitable for what I was looking for, and is heavy enough not to tear easily.

Agreed. I live within 60 miles of the Gulf of Mexico and still cover mine.

car covers are a good way to scratch the finnish, all it takes is a small rock or grit and you might as well take sandpaper to it.

I thought about getting a car cover, but I am too worried about it scratching the car more than it already is!

Yeah well unfortunately I have to park my car outside in the driveway and our street isn't fully paved, so if I don't cover it, I'm washing my car everyday.

I'm using the car cover from Costco, $30. I haven't noticed any scratches from the cover. I usually don't cover my car unless it's clean to begin with though.

Default Shopping for a car cover

I'm in need of a car cover for about a week. My IS350 will be parked for about a week outside and I need to cover it up. I'm headed for a cruise in the Bahamas and would like to get a cover that won't be scratching the car up from the winds making it flap against the body.

Anyone have any experience in what will work?

I'd also like to resue it on my MKIV supra when I'm not using it. The supra does have the wing also.

Thanks in advance.

i think any decent car cover in the local automotive stores will do. don't waste your money buying the expensive, overly described covers that will protect just the same as a normal one.
