I can confirm that the DVD hack works on a 2012 (red wire near the pink on the J50 plug), grounded the wire onto the player chasis. I had a failed attempt at hacking the NAV and lost color to my back up camera. I said that was enough experimenting for one day and closed shop. But for the most part, the DVD hack works like a charm

I noticed however a problem on my nav some time ago.

The problem is that countdown on oilservice etc stopped a while ago.
It seems that i stopped about the time i did the mod, i think.

Edit: with countdown i mean on infoscreen on the nav.

Anyone who can help?
I can use phone while driving and have not have other issues either.

So I have a 2010. I am not going to go in there unless I know I'm not going to F it up... Anyone know definitively for that year?

The hack will work for all the models. The difference between the 2006-2009 Lexus IS models and the 2010-2012 Lexus IS models is the wire location. They are both behind the NAV unit, but on different connectors.

However, the DIY guide to getting behind the NAV unit is still the same.

And of course, if you do not want to make any modification to your OEM wires and is looking for a plug and play kit, you can always get our kit

anybody know whitch cable is the real parking camera video signal?

if i knkw i can connect the iphone video signal to navigation with grounded reverse signal and i can use iphone,s navigation on the screen

I have an 06, IS 350 ML. If all i want is to enable the DVD while driving then all i have to do is ground the red wire and leave everything else alone?

Yes Gustavo 621 that's correct. I did all steps and created a hybrid DVD to override my 06 350 ML in 2009. Thing is while you're in there you might as well do all the steps. Getting the radio and vents out is easy but not fast if you're being careful not to scratch up the car.

Elvis405 - I'm not sure but seems like you may have disconnected the camera during the mod. No other reason why it wouldn't work due to other wiring being altered.

Do I ground the red cable going to the harness or coming out of the harness? or both?

Gustavo 621 - I believe you ground the wire coming out of the harness, but can't remember for sure as it's been 4 years since I did the mod.

I bought the car used, it's is350 2007 with sport package. Does anyone know if it has ML?
