Default New Poll: AWD vs RWD, automatic vs. SMG vs. manual

OK so based on my last poll, it seems like people want more choices than just AWD or manual. Let the new polling begin!

I'd take the current transmission with AWD. 306 hp should be more than enough for the extra weight of the AWD drivetrain.

what does "enough" mean? an extra 200 lbs is an extra two hundred pounds.

Get rid of those paddles, and keep it RWD. I actually want the car to shed a few hundred pounds...

I see the majority chose the SMG tranny and I wonder how many of those have actually driven one for extended period of time and still prefer the SMG. I would prefer the SMG only if there is major improvement in the future.

improvement in what? the reason its not as smooth as you may like is because its an actual manual transmission with an electro-hydraulic clutch . . .

Ya, a friend of mine who was an M3 with SMG says it is still a pain in the butt in traffic. I say keep the transmission (maybe try to speed it up a little with paddle shifts) but offer AWD.

200 lbs lighter at that horsepower could probably dip into the high 4's in the 0-60...

I don't think 200 pounds is going to drop it 4/10 of a second......

What's all this big fuss over extra weight about AWD as an option, It's just an extra choice.
Poll didn't say make them all AWD, if you don't want AWD, stick with the lighter RWD versions . . .

well in that case, if all we're debating about is having the OPTION of additional configs without discussing the merits of each, then sure, why not have EVERYTHING as an option, and end the debate?

yeah i wouldn't count on it. in general, each 100lbs translates into maybe a tenth of a second off in the quartermile, which maybe translates into 0.05 seconds in the 0-60 run per 100lbs.

well I currently have a G35 which is about 3450-3500 lbs and does 0-60 -- 6.0-6.2 sec

a 350Z is almost all same except weight is 3200-3300 lbs and does 0-60 -- 5.3-5.6 sec
