Hey all I've noticed this with all my cars, there's no problem with our cars. I think it has something to do with the tires turning on such a sharp angle. The tire are somewhat skipping on the ground while the rotation happens. Nothing to worry about.

 

yea i thot the same thing when I first heard it. didn't think it was that big of a deal.

 

My car makes the same noise sometimes when the wheel is turned all the way...

 

Is this causing any damage? Is there a fix for this? Do those of you with '07s have the same problem?

 

My 07 IS350 has the same exact problem. Seems like a lot of people offering suggestions but no answers and this post is old. It has to be something with the bushings, lower control arms or tie rods I would think. I took my car to mechanic, he said everything looked tight and aligned the car. Since then, it hasn’t gotten better. I still have the rubbing/ thumping sound after I initially pull out of the garage and turn full stop to right or left along with my front tires feeling like they’re sliding and rolling over objects. The feeling is worse when the pavement is wet. After about 15 seconds after I straighten the wheels and drive off it goes away. After this if I make a sharp full U-Turn I don’t feel or hear anything at all. It seems to happen after the car has been sitting for awhile or overnight. I’m’m lost on this but I’m not stopping until I find out what’s going on with my car, anyone have any input, I need help.

 

Didn’t know if you ever got this resolved however, you described my 2007 IS350 issue with my car. If you get this note I would like to know how you resolved it. Thanks Ben

 

same sound. had no idea it was normal.
