Default Tinting windows = void lease?

Curious If I can get my windows tinted via a 3rd party? Would there be any issues with a lease if I did it that way?

No problems whatsoever. I always use 3rd party on my lease cars. And at the end you don't even need to remove the tint, just leave it on and turn it in.

Default interesting FYI BMW is different

3rd party tinting makes the return a more complicated process for a BMW lease

Never heard of any problems...assuming it isn't a crappy tint job that's already peeling at the end of the lease.

I was told as long as the tint is in good shape, my BMW lease return was no sweat.....now, if it was crappy do it yourself stuff, that would be different.

Guess I'll find out soon enough......

Are there any fees for not removing it?

No, I've had 3 Lexus leases and sold quite a few when I was in sales. Never was charged nor have I ever heard of anyone being charged. You're okay, don't worry about it.

it should be okay.. i mean they should be thanking you for putting value on their car... but it's okay.. if there is a doubt.. all you need is a razor and some water.. and comes right off

it's written into the recon "things to do" list =P so technically the next buyer pays for the removal.

I just turned in my leased 2002 GS300 with 20% window tint. It was leased through Lexus Financial Services. The lease return manager at the dealership didn't even mention it.
