Hi guys, its been 1900 miles and I have about 3 stone chips on my bumper, what should I do with it?? I read from a magazine that leaving stone chips alone will mess up the paint later on (im guessing if left untreated, the chips will get bigger?)

Thanks for the help.
They won't get bigger; there will just be more chips. Use touch-up paint to cover the chips that are there already and then put a clear bra on that girl!
Definitely get some touch up paint and cover those up. It's not that expensive and will probably save you in the long run. And yes put a clear bra on it!!!
I dont understand the reasoning of paying for a clear bra,, they charge you
what like,, $700? to protect the paint of a bumper which is worth about
$300-$400? I mean i understand if you go on long road trips every once in
a while, in which case then u can just put on one of those leather ones, just
for the trip... Also how do you stop dirt from getting trapped in the seams?

Well, its not so much the cost of painting the bumper, it is very difficult to match the paint on a pearl car. If you know what to look for you can always tell if certain parts of the car has been repainted.
On my 3000GT, I was in an accident, got the whole car repainted. 2 years later, someone backed into my rear quater panel on my 3000 =(. I went back to the same shop that painted my car, and even they could not match the paint =(
also, those leather ones You dont have to be driving on long trips to get rock chips. Just short stints on the highway can hurt the paint.
I am surprised that the OP has chips on his car though. When my 3000 was repainted, it was over 1 year before chips started showing up.

I have 3 cars with clear bras. What convinced me that the clear bra was the right way to go was my `02 SC430. It seemed like I was using the touch-up paint for chips on the front end about once every month. And no, I didn't do any long trips in that car. I traded the `02 for a new (at the time) `04 SC430 and had a clear bra installed right away. Put a clear bra on the `04 GX 470 I bought for my wife and put another one on the `05.5 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro I bought as a daily driver. I don't want my cars to look like they have "freckles" or a bad case of the "mumps". I don't have any problems with dirt in the seams, as all of the seams are tight. By the way, all of the bras I had installed have life-time warranties. For me, it just makes sense - it's a small cost if it takes $500-$1,000 to protect your car and keep it looking good. Another tip - those leather/vinyl bras will RUIN the finish on a car.
MD727 - we stress quality when it comes to everyone we network with in the industry. However, there's only a handful we would recommend to forum members across the country. Unfortunately, none we would confidently refer in your area.
Tony1 - when it comes to exotics and having each panel painted and then color sanded to remove the orange peel, it does cost that much........airspray touchups run approximately $300 for exotics on the average and that is only for one particular area of a panel.

I am sure you are going to get a flood of replies about where to get clearbra installs done but I am going to ask anyways.
I am in the DC area. Do you know of any reputable installers in the DC/MD/VA area? Should I just have it installed at the dealership? If you prefer for me to call you I can do that as well. Thanks
