I'm afraid that might be the case, but let me know if you find out otherwise!

Yes, according to Lexus.com and carsdirect.com, the 350 comes standard with all season 17s, P225/45VR17 Front, P245/45VR17 AS Rear. The 18s are options. Actually, I am ordering a 350 with 17s, as I am really afraid of pot holes here in boston.

I won't drive much in snow, so I am thinking make do with those 17s w/ all season tires. I am also thinking about order better looking BBS wheels from trierack, also 17s. But I really love those 18s. Are they really that bad against pot holes in boston? I never had any 18s before... Thanks for any inputs.

That's right 17's are stock on the 350, so of course a 17 inch snow package should work. I'm sure you'll be fine with 17's in Boston on the all season tread. I'd imagine they do a pretty good job there salting and plowing the streets?

I drive all year with 235/45/18's on my Volvo S60 with ulta high performance all season tires. On really bad snow days I take my wife's SUV. I have no poblem getting through light snow. I had an Audi TT with summer tires and 17" wheels years ago and was all over the street and got wise real quick. I'm going to get the 350/sport/18's and put on a all season UPH tire. While the rear is wide I will just not drive it on bad days. I have that luxury while others don't.

As far as pot holes. I've learned to avoid them as well as the next person. Understanding the nature of 18's I try to avoid bad roads and pot holes. In 3 years with my 18's I have never had a problem. But I have to watch for them.

Wow, that's inspirational! Heck maybe the 225/40/18's and 255/40/18's will be fine year round in Indy, Although I'm afraid these I'll need new rubber, these tires won't likely cut it, will probably at least need to upgrade to some type of all-season..

Default Snow tires/wheels

I did some more digging. Amazingly I can get the Lexus G spider 18" wheels for only $250 apiece. I think the pressure sensors were about $175 each. Kind of funny that it would be cheaper to put 18" on the car instead of 17". I can get Pirelli P-zero nero M&S tires in 225 and 245 width. I am debating getting the same size all the way around (225), then I could rotate them for more even wear.

We do have a minivan that I could drive on bad snow days so I don't think I am going to go the snow tire route.

250 is better, but I'll probably look for something a bit less costly. May just swap out the tires and keep the stock rims.

For you though, I'd definitely get the same size all the way around the option to rotate is ALWAYS a good thing!

Thanks, guys. Glad to know that all seasons and 18s might be OK. I went to the dealership and they offered to put on the all-seasons for me if I ordered the 18s. So that's what i did.

Nice work, will they let you keep the 18's that come stock, so you can switch 'em out in the Spring? Let us know how much they're charging and what kind of tires they end up giviing you.

Blue, which dealer did you go with and how soon will they get you a car?

The low cost of going with 18s is what got me exited.

I am paying $225 a wheel with the center caps included.

The sensors are $96 each.

I went to Lexus of Watertown. IS250AWD, $225 a wheel is an awesome deal! It was a special order, blue onyx with Nav and ML. The dealer says 8 weeks, but from what I heard from another dealer, it would be more like 12 weeks

ES3, The dealer will keep the summer tires, so they don't charge me for the all-seasons. I live in a condo in the city, and storage would be an issue for me, so I might be happier just use one set of wheels for all seasons.

Did you end up going with these? Were they the price you suggested?
Also was that with or without the tires?
