Has anyone had a problem with the luster of the paint after the install? Meaning, does the paint still shine throught the 3M material? Does it dull the clarity or reflection the paint?

Does anyone know of a good installer in Sacramento?

Prior to installation, the car has to be cleaned up. The Xpel kit will not change the appearance at all. The paint still shines if you cleaned it well before installing the kit.

I don't know anyone at sacramento.

There is a guy in bay area that does an excellent job.

You can go on the Xpel website and search fo CS specialties.

thank god I read this thread, My dealer tried to charge me 1800 for it when I bought the car. So front bumper, headlights, fog lights, hood, side mirrors are somewhere around $500-$800?

Around $500 is correct. We have 2 clear bra vendors here on ClubLexus. Check out the vendor forum for Aeroshield & Premier Mobile.

If you're in SoCal...Aeroshield is highly recommended and is used by many CL members including Moderators & Admins!

Back in 2003, I used Meljie Honey’s Auto Glass (Sacramento) for my G35. He installed a 3M Autoshield kit complete with headlight covers. The cost was $635. I think he did a pretty good job. However, this time around with the IS350, I think I’ll pay a little more and get the wrapped edges.

This includes front and rear bumpers only - not even the hood, rearview mirrors, etc. From what I've been able to find online, this is a pretty expensive price. Anyone have any advice? Is there a third party shop where I could get it done for a more reasonable price? Thanks for your help!
I guess the prices have gone up a bit since last year. A friend of mine had his CLK 55 AMG done at the dealer for $550.00 which included the hood. That film is amazing, but on a lease, I don't know if I'd drop that kind of money.

Default Anyone who's on the fence

about getting a clear bra GET IT. The masked part of my black RX looks 10 times better than the unmasked part. I detail my car frequently and the masked part always has a lot less scratches .
On my next car I'll seriously look at doing the whole hood and the doors.

GET IT! I can't stress this enough. Driving in So Cal behind huge semis and rock hurling trucks,, I have spent $$$$ getting my front bumper repainted a few times.. I put on Aeroshield and there is absolutely no reason why anybody who cares about their car should not put it on. The line is invisible. Just wax it once a month with a good wax,, which some people do anyways and NOTHING will stick to it. The best investment I ever made to protect my car by far. I highly recommend aeroshield.

It's still not clear to me that it's worth it on a leased vehicle though... It will cost well over one month's payment, and the kind of damage it protects from is probably covered as "normal wear and tear" on the lease anyway. So you're paying extra out-of-pocket so the daler car receive a better-looking car 3 years from now. Plus I'm getting tungsten pearl, and I've read that this kind of damage is less noticeable on light colors...

I think the $800 would be better spent towards something else, like a car payment or towards the DVD Navi option.

When I bought mine from Xpel 4 years ago, it was guaranteed against paint damage due to perforation. I have the warrantee paper that says so. Just don't ever rely on collecting it, read the fine print. They make it so that it's not worth it. Don;t get me wrong, I'm sure my hood would have many more chips on it without the film.
