Default my initial thoughts

picked up our is250 w/ nav last night (with 18" rims and summer tires and premium plus package), $39,700 out the door after TTL.
it's a nice car, the acceleration is about what you'd expect from a 2.5 liter engine, and the back is a little better than lets say a honda civic. i'm 6', 222 and i was ok sitting in the back, but my head would touch the top of the roof and any bumps will be felt. navi was impressive, i like the auto-fill of the street names as you type it.
overall, a nice car. my first impression on size was that it's bigger in person than it looks in pictures. i was expecting acura RSX size, i got something closer to infiniti G35 coupe size.

Congrats on your purchase. Don't forget to take some pics to show everyone.

"and the back is a little better than lets say a honda civic."

Are you talking about back seat legroom? From what I remember, the Civic has noticeably more space back there.

by the back i mean yeah, the backseat head/legroom. it's nice comfortable leather, but in no planet does this car seat 5. maybe if you have 3 midgets in the back.
as for pics, since we got back late from dealer last night, i couldn't take pics but tonight, i'll take some in the garage.
options: only a few:
premium plus
cargo net/trunk mat option ($200!!!)
18" w/ summer tires ($720) -- the rims look ok, 225/40/18's will make this a pricey set of tires to maintain though
navi/backup camera/bluetooth. the salesman mentioned bluetooth worked only on certain phones, tried for a minute with my wife's 7610 nokia but they weren't handshaking too well, i figured i'd mess with it when i had more time.
the car is black w/ black interior, and the stock speakers sound just ok, nothing to write home about.

With reference to the ML debate, there is no end to what I could say about this. I think I'll just leave it be since it's no suprise to me.

oh yeah, another thing
the ground clearance on this thing is a little low for my tastes, particularly the front bumper. i'd hate to go over speed bumps with this thing.

The New IS' bumper is not low. Mine is low:

Ahhh yeah, that's definitely 4x4 with the rear naturally sagging ..so you have extra front bumper clearance.

That was my favorite bodystyle Maxima though. Particularly 2001-2003 Maxima SE.
