Default Hey guys!

I am new to this board, but I have been reading on the new IS. Thank you all for the information. This car really impressed me. I will be purchasing the IS 250 eventually. Fuel is my main concern and I am glad this machine will be averaging 28 or more mpg which is a big plus for all of us that really wants to save on gas. Prices these days are redicilous.

I also have few questions regarding this vehicle :

1. What kind of warranties are going to be featured for this car. ( What is the base price for the IS 250 and If someone can crunch the numbers what would be an estimated Montly payment for those who work in the dealership or know about this, excluding the navigation system )

2. I have been thinking about financing this car, but maybe they will revise things that might change my mind on buying the car right away. So I will be leasing it, although I wanted to ask someone who knows If I can change my contract from leasing to financing during my 4 year lease which is the minimum I believe?

3. DRL I know for a fact will be eating half of my power circruit. Can this be disabled before the purchase? I know its the law in Canada, but I live in U.S

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Nick

Default Whoah, whoah, whoah...

Pricing is announced tomorrow. None of us as of yet know the pricing for this car. I am as well interested in the IS 250 6MT. The way I want it optioned out (pretty much base model except with heated/ventilated seats if available with 6MT), it would probably come out to around $30K-ish USD or maybe around $40K CAN. We'll all find out tomorrow anyways.

I am open to change (although not changing my mind about getting an IS).

(1) Warranties should parallel current warranties offered with the IS300. Basic warranty is 50k miles or 4 years, except wheel balancing and alignment which is for 20k miles or 2 years. Powertrain warranty is for 72 months or 70k miles. Corrosion is for 72 months regardless of mileage.

(2) I think you need to complete the lease contract or pay a fee. Better to finance, and sell the car if you decide not to keep it after the time you would have spent on the lease.

(3) DRL can be disabled. Easiest way: take off the bulbs.

Unless you want to lose functionality of the bi-xenon HID headlights, this is not the way to go.

DRL is usually controlled by a seperate relay you can simply unplug or disable a fuse. There is a way around it. You can also ask your Lexus sales rep to see if they can disable it through C-Best.

Yeah I am definitely gonna let the Lexus dealership handle this.

Thanks

Since flipside seems to know everything, what are the C-BEST settings for the new IS?

Heh, if I knew i'd already put the information out. But in all honesty, the C-Best/LPS settings are preference items like timed illumination for the interior, beep loudness and etc. I'll find out more info when I can.

I suspect the IS will have more than settings the other Lexus'. But then again, alot of the settings can already be set via the information display.

Lexus has ads in some magazines with the GS in it explaining how they will in the very near future really increase options from the remote. They didn't name specifics

Just hope you'll be able to set those options simply by using the nav display or something rather than having to take it to the dealership each time.
