Default road and track scans

just got my road and track in the mail a few minutes ago. haven't even read the article, thought to scan it for you guys first (awwwww) doesn't look like a very positive review from what i've skimmed. seems like they thought of it as more a luxo sedan than sports raider. and a 0-60 of 6.0 sec! car and driver has some fast monkies driving their cars...

sorry for the quality. scans came out to 2 megs each and photobucket.com has a 250mb limit :/

Cool thanks for the scans. I am going to buy this issue & the Car & Driver issues this weekend with articles of the new IS. Scans are great but I like to have the real thing in hand.

i just read it and it seems like a great review, and then suddenty at the end they bring it down by saying it is more of a baby GS than a 3 series competitor...it is kind of weird becasue they had mostly compliments for it...there were only minor complaints

yeah i just read it over too. it was a GLOWING review, until the very end about the whole luxo GS thing. which is sad because they seem to have taken their larger quotes from that end part and pasted it over the pictures and such.

i was about to say that about the quotes...it is sad that they give a bad interpretation when someone just skims it, and most people who get the magazine just skim and look at the pictures

The only positive thing is the price:

Road & Track scans show they just tested the IS350 with Nav & ML Sound System, heated/venilation seats, HID headlights, sport suspension, 18 " wheels, Park Assist, sunroof and the price as tested $42,000.00

Not bad really, I could do without the sunroof. That would make it $41,100.00

Thanks knihc2008!!!

I think the article is very short, lots of specifics but not too much commentary. Glad to hear the VDIM allows for some drift ...the interior is true, 'non-offensive' and yet very nice, sleek, and sexy IMO.

As for 'more sport'--it's difficult to say, since the comparable IS 300 was more 'sport' in emphasis, if luxury accouterments are taken into account--the New IS by comparison seems lush.

I think the New IS is getting fine results here, even if the R&T people are more of the 'sport enthusiast' type. The New IS is indeed more sporty, and more of a 3-series competitor simply because it matches or beats the 3-series in almost every category. Just looking at it (exterior and interior), the features, et al indicate that the New IS is quite a worthy 3-series competitor vs. the previous generation, which was more of a niche vehicle.

Default Wheel Gap

Do you see the wheel gap on that picture? Non-existant. I know the car is squating on the corner but still that car seems to be lowered on that picture. It looks very nice.

That IS has the Performance Luxury Plus (Sport Package) riding 0.5" lower than the regular IS350s. Easiest way to tell an IS350 with this package is the silver trim on the dash and the aluminum pedals that were used from the previous IS350.

:/ ..... That fuel economy really is not looking too good .... I really hope that's wrong ...

I guess under very hard driving the fuel economy will be low ... C & D got about 16mpg ... while R & T got 17.5mpg .... under normal driving, I'm guessing the IS will have much better economy.

I was also surprised to read that the air conditioner struggled, what's up that ... C & D never seemed to mention it.

I picked up this mag yesterday.

In this article it says: "Lexus says the IS is one of the few cars with downforce, not lift, which is reassuring in a car with a governed top speed of 142 mph"

What does that mean? downforce not lift and why is Lexus one of the few that has this?
