I was just goofing around on carsdirect.com, building a 330i bmw (still mulling it over, starting to get a little impatient), when what do I see at the top of the "build your 330 page?" A nice little ad from Lexus saying something like, "With over 300 horsepower, you just might want to wait for an IS350." And there was a bad *** picture of a side profile shot of the new IS in what appeared to be an almost chrome silver (obviously photoshopped, but it looked cool). Talk about a great omen. My wife wants me to wait for the IS too. I guess I should listen to my computer.

But seriously, how much do you think Lexus paid carsdirect to get this add to display at the top of 3 series configurations? Or was this just blind luck that I happened to get the add while building a 330?

I wonder how much of this has to do with surfing habits. It could be that since your surfing habits bring you to this website & I'm sure you've been to Lexus.com & maybe other Lexus oriented sites that it showed you this banner. Sorta like Amazon where they record your surfing habits (within their site) they know what you like & give you results closest to that item you were looking at.

Almost like big brother is watching you. Not sure I agree with this 100% but I think it is possible.

 

Oh that is SLICK!! I just looked and it did it for me. I'm at work so I don't do a whole lot of searching here so it's possible that Lexus spent some bucks to get them to do this. Pretty smart if you ask me.

well i went back on there today to show someone the ad and they changed it! it's now a G35 but with the same premis.

But don't change your mind Ratman, wait for the IS!!!!
