ARG!! I hate the shark fin, reminds me of the BMW. Wonder why this is the first time we are seeing a Shark Fin? Not at any of the auto shows!!!

Can't tell is that black wood? or different trim? In any case much better than red wood I am sooo tired of red wood.

Thanks for pics.

I'm still standing by it when I say that I think the shark fin is for XM/Sirius. And, I'm not seeing this blackwood..?

Looking at those pics, I just realized that (and don't everyone jump on me at once) the interior looks remarkably similar to the E46 interior. In other words, I think it looks great and very classy and grown-up, esp. compared to the MkI IS, but now that I'm actually warming up to the interior of the E90, the clean, nearly buttonless dash of the E90 is starting to look "right." I never thought I'd say this, but the multitude of buttons on the E46 and MkII IS, while pleasing and perhaps more intuitive, are starting to look old and dated already. BTW, this is not intended as a bash, as I am, for the most part, a fan of the interior.

Also, the one thing that really irks me about the E46 interior, and what looks like Lexus has adapted for the MkII IS, is the lack of dials and ***** for HVAC controls. The E90 steps up in this sense, although it also steps way back down by adding iDrive (for NAV-eqiupped cars) and decreasing/eliminating the driver-oriented dash.

Anyway, I'm too lazy to do it, but if someone wants to post a pic of the MkII IS (or I guess the lingo is "2IS") and the E46 interiors from a similar view, I think y'all will see what I mean.

They're a bit small... but here goes:

The use of buttons instead of ***** is more upscale. ***** have always been more base-model. When you get the more luxurious options, you get the buttons instead of the ***** (see also: Volkswagen Jetta/Golf IV Climatronic, older Nissan Maxima/Altima cloth vs. leather option, etc). Although I do agree that ***** are a quicker way to get to what setting you want (My ES has to cycle through the vent placement settings, and there's no back button... blah) the buttons and and the integration into the nav screen definitely gives it a classier look. However, we have yet to see the 2IS (yeah I'm a trend***** now ) without a nav screen. The previous IS used *****, so we'll just have to wait and see if the new one does or doesn't.

Like the GS, there won't be an IS without the screen.

That side profile pic is awsome. I love this car more and more each day. Too bad though. I was all set on buying on in a year or two but now I probably have to move to a new house so no new car for me for a long time. Maybe I can pick up a used on
