Default Gas mileage?

Can anyone take an educated stab at what the fuel economy will be on the new IS's?

Keep in mind it does now have a 6 speed auto

Question

Hmmm...last time it was the same as GS3. Now it's a little lighter and gas economy is a big deal for everyone. So I'm going to guess....23 city and 31 hwy.

**This is only my guess for fuel economy for entertainment purposes. This is not an official statement.**

That'd be awesome since the gas mileage wasn't anything to brag about on the last IS

Hahaha..I know. I came out of a ES300 (best gas economy ever on a Lexus up until the '06 GS)into the IS300 and now I could

I fill up about 2x per week, like on my old RX. It totally stinks how much I pay for gas. $35 bucks to fill up. I really wish they'd hurry p and make a hybrid IS350. *sigh*

Sorry Longo, I'm gonna use you as an example That's exactly what'd happen to me, since I'd be going ES300 --> IS350, and I don't want to be crying either

That, and the interior is the reason I bought an ES instead of an IS

The initial specs for the Euro IS250 seems to indicate an average of around 24MPG (the Euro test is a bit different than EPA test), although some of the numbers in there seem suspect.

Well, I'm gonna guess now. The new Avalon with a 5 speed auto and the 3.5L gets 21 city, 31 highway. I'm thinking that with an extra gear in the box, the 350 will get maybe 22 city(higher horsepower), 33-34 highway? Seems kinda high, I know, but seems logical.

I should probably make a new topic about this, but what about these:

Thats exactly what I was going to say, but I would expect possibly even better mpg due to lighter car + 6 gears + direct injection as compared to Avalon.

No kidding!?! Meanwhile the LS & GS w/ their V8's and WAY more hp were getting at least 25-28 mpg back in the '01 model year... Maybe that's why they axed the I6?
