I suppose that I need to see a new is in person but from all the pics I have seen it DOES look like a mazda3 outside. the interior is very nice however. I REALLY hope that this styling does not carry over to the next gen ls. god what a mistake that would be.

The car itself won't need much of stopping power like 3 liter V6. If that diesel runs to 60 in less than 10seconds that should be counted as success.

As long as they keep the weight down 10 s 0-60 on that car should be doable. The diesel will probably beat the 250 in passing tho.

More hp?
I think this is a beautiful car....much, much better than the current generation! I see people talking about a higher hp version, but all I see is the 204 hp number on the IS250. Is there going to be a higher hp version? I currently have an Audi A6 2.7T....with 260 hp and two turbos, I am having a hard time considering my next car unless it has some kick. I like the new Infiniti M, but really don't want to spend $45-50k again. Anybody know about an IS coming with more hp? What is this about an IS350? Thanks.

2006 IS US Debut
I am now considering going to the New York Auto Show to see this car. Has there been a press release from Lexus stating that the new IS will be there?
Also, on the feature note, does it has auto dimming mirrors?
