To confirm, the vehicle starts and you're able to move the shifter through all positions (R, N, D), and aren't aren't engaging, correct?
I thought perhaps it could it be possible the shift cable linkage, shift solenoid etc. however, located the following video that states possible issue may be with he vehicle PCM (software upgrade needed) and not transmission (one of issues being unable to place shifter into a gear). Per video, this is a common issue experienced with IS250 owners;

Sorry maybe I didn’t do a good job in explaining the car starts and running just fine there are no check engine lights or codes being thrown the shifter does move and engage into each gear the engine just reves when I give it gas the rear wheels are completely locked up one person told me if the transmission went out I would have all neutrals in every gear and the rear wheels would still roll and suggested it was the rear differential that went out would the cable you mentioned lock the rear wheels up completely and cause them to lock up while the car is already in drive and in motion?]
I believe if the shift linkage cable were to be damaged / stretched , you'd be able to start the vehicle in any gear selected ad would think the vehicle would still be abl to be moved / pushed. Possible drive shaft U-joint is defective?
I'm sure a member with more experience regarding the issue your experiencing will follow up and confirm.
