2007 - Issues with right turn signal
Hello, 2nd Gen IS community! I've been having some issues with the right turn signal on my 2007 IS250 RWD Manual, and I was hoping someone here might know what's going on.
When I move the stalk for a left turn, the turn signal works as expected. When I move it for a right turn, the right turn indicator on the instrument cluster flashes once. The duration of the flash is slightly shorter than a normal turn signal flash. Audible clicks are heard corresponding to the start and end of the flash. No further clicks are heard and no further flashes occur. The right turn signal lamps on the car exterior do not light during this flash of the instrument cluster turn indicator. If the headlights are off, the right turn signal has no exterior effect whatsoever. If the headlights are on, there is a slight dimming of the headlights and taillights on the right side. Hazards exhibit the same "one flash" behavior as the right turn signal; however, the exterior lamps on the left side *do* light up during the flash, whereas the right side lamps do not.
All headlights and taillights work well. This problem only affects the turn signals. I confirmed that all four bulbs are good by swapping the bulbs between the left and right side. I tested the flasher relay by swapping it with a known good unit from a different car, and the flasher behaved normally in the other car (whereas my car had the same problem when using a different flasher relay). I tested the stalk switch by measuring resistance across pins, and confirmed that the switch for the right side stays engaged.
It may be worth noting that sometime before the right turn signal stopped working altogether, the strip of LEDs at the bottom of the OEM headlight module stopped turning from white to amber during the turn signal flash, and instead turned off during the flash. The LED strip on the left side behaves normally.
