Default 2007 IS250 AUX port problems.

I recently got a 2007 is250 and the AUX didn’t work at all (couldn’t switch to aux). I’ve had many Toyotas before, so I knew the drill of replacing the old aux port.

I put the new one in and tried it with my Bluetooth device and it worked great, but I got a lot of static and hissing, so I put on a ground loop noise isolator and I’m back to not being able to switch to AUX.

I’ve tried different aux cords and different noise isolators and different devices (iPhone direct to aux cable) and the only way I can get it to switch to AUX is with my Bluetooth device without the ground loop isolater which makes a loud hissing noise.

The only thing I can think of is that I went with a cheaper aftermarket AUX port instead of the super expensive Lexus one?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

I think the this could be an option for bluetooth music.

You don't need to install the microphone if you have already the free hands.

Don't actually know what your problem is however, I have a 2007 IS 350 and when I purchased it Bluetooth wasn't an on the build sheet. I bought the car in 2022. I purchased a Bluetooth kit from a company named BESIGN. Very basic design but gave me Bluetooth capabilities to play music, answer handsfree through my iPhone. The product came with the ground loop isolater which cancels out the loud hissing noise. The unit is pretty cheap, I believe I paid about $25 and it came with all the hardware. You can google it. Hope this helps. (I actually saw this item from Marty Motoring on YouTube, and it works great)

I have the exact same Bluetooth device by BESIGN, I’ve used it in most of my Toyotas. The issue I’m having, is it won’t let me switch to AUX with the ground loop isolater connected. Like the only way I’ve been able to get it to switch to AUX is to plug the Bluetooth device in directly and deal with the hissing. It’s almost like the car needs the static feedback to realize something is plugged into the aux port.

The cheapest way of replacing the aux port is to pull one off another is250/is350 from the junkyard.
I had another car that exhibited static and poor audio quality from the aux port. I thought I needed a ground loop isolator, but I ended up pulling the aux unit out of the junkyard for $10.
The junkyard aux replacement works flawlessly. I kind of wonder if people accidentally spill liquids down the aux port (even with the cover on) and corrode the terminals?

The part number for the OEM aux port is: 8619053020

If the junkyard/OE replacement doesn't work then it's time to start checking wires and work your way from the aux port up to the head unit.

good luck!

Your solution sounds like the best solution, and there should be many junkyards to see if you can find one with an aux port. If not, try EBay as an option. Good Lick!

Thanks for the reply, I think I will take your advice and check the local junk yard, that would probably be the quickest and easiest option and I will go form there!
