I bought the car yesterday from an auction and when I turned it on it won't go past 3K RPM'S. The car was in storage since 2021 and battery and battery in FOB was dead. I replaced both. Still same problem? Check engine light is on. What can I do? Have the ECU reset or scan for codes? Thanks for all your help!
That's the code. It says permanent code on his snap on scanner. He said I should check the fuse first then change 3 sensors which are mass flow, throttle body position sensor and gas pedal sensor.
The fault is for how much effort the throttle body is exerting to move. I wouldn't waste money buying a new maf sensor (wouldn't hurt to clean the maf anyway as part of regular maintenance) or gas pedal sensor. I wouldn't immediately assume an electrical issue or problem with the ecu If it idles fine and you can drive around, but it is possible.
If this was my car, I would start by cleaning and inspecting the throttle body, plug and wiring. If I were to blindly spend money, I'd hop on ebay and buy the cleanest looking used throttle body.
Good news! I Googled the code and changed the fuse which was blown. I got my rpm's back!!. But I noticed the navigation screen is dead? Any ideas? Thanks

Search the forums unfortunately this is a "thing" for the nav/radio in this model. Then again did you press the DISP button on the left side of the screen yet?

No I did not press the display button. Am I supposed to press that first? I watched some videos on YouTube and will check and replace all radio, navigation and display fuses. Which might help. I hope. Thanks for any more tips.
