Hello first time posting not sure if it's in the right place or not. Also FYI the cars Japanese since I'm MIL currently stationed out here.
I have a 08 IS 350 the A/C works, along with the heater. Unfortunately the vents don't work and it's stuck only to the Defrost(I've noticed since when I turn thr A/C on my window starts to freeze up) if I have the windows shut after a while the cabin does cool down though, but anyways it's starting to get warm out here and I'd like the air to be directed where I want it. I tried switching the actuator as most forums recommended and nothing still. While attempting to switch out actuator I noticed when I pushed the screen to have the air redirected nothing moved (I had the glove box out and was able to see inside), however after i turned the car off it cycled on its own like 3 times for around 30 seconds. I've also noticed that the console doesn't light up whatever mode you have the air pointing feet/feetface/face (next to the seatbelt indicator). The Heated/Cooling seats aren't working either. Idk if this all has to do with the same issue or not. I've checked the drivers fuse box, the passengers fuse box, fuse box under the hood they are all fine none is blown out. The button to recirculate the air or just to have outside air work as well i know because i changed the cabin filter and had no issues getting the little door to open. I'm going to try to replace the Air Mix Amplifier if I can find it. But who knows. If any of you guys/gals have any idea please let me know. And thank you for your time 👏
I'm also attaching pictures to see the console, and behind the glove box. Also I did notice a small gear that moved maybe like 4 teeth out of 15
08 IS350 Japanes console. So next to the seatbelt light it should show whater mode you have it on no? Ive seen other vidoes of other IS and they have it working.

This small gear im pointing at only moved about a third of the gear right below that. The other two big ones on the left rotated fine after i turned off the car and they cycled thru.

I belive this might be the culprit not to sure but im on the hunt for one of these now.
