Default Changing Spark Plugs

Had the car for about a year now and feel it may benefit from changing the plugs...

What would you all recommend i need for changing the plugs? Should I buy new gaskets? is there anything else i should change while i'm in there?

Fortunately, nothing really needs to be removed to do spark plugs on these cars besides the air intake tube. You could clean your throttle body while the air intake is off, might be worth changing your PCV valve too since you're right there. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ml#post7919629

Changing the valve cover gaskets will be a lot more involved, I'd leave them alone if you don't see them leaking.

I would like to give you a warning about cleaning throttle body. Unless there is anything wrong, I would not touch it. If you are not careful enough or don't know how to clean it properly, you can damage the throttle body.

OP should mention if it's for 250 or 350.

I looked up some of OPs other posts, it's a 250. So ya, intake needs to come off.

TB is safe to clean and move with igniton off. Do not wedge it open with anything solid, use very soft items like a rag if you must and take note that the edge will cut like a knife.

Worst case during a plug change is you find oil in plug well. That leads to pulling the valve cover and new seals and gaskets. You will also be looking for carbon build up in the intake.

Both of which I would take note of, reassemble and plan your next steps and parts purchases.

I was glad to be done with expensive timing belt replacements on my 3.0L 1MZ-FE Engine but this spark plug change interval and cost is even worse.
