Default Side mirrors

I have a 2010 is250awd and everytime it rains , it leaves a long strip run down the door panel. Even if you wash the car, it still stained and will not go away. I called Lexus dealer and they said that it not a defected until we have alot of complaints. I have seen many lexus while driving that has the same problem. I think if we all make a complaint to Lexus, they might consider it as a defect and we can get new mirrors installed from dealership. I have made a complaint to Lexus, they have me on file. Thx

Did you buy this new from the dealer and if not, do both doors do this?

Mine does not do this but two things that come to mind are are pollution and grease in the mirror. If someone had the mirror(s) off and used a 'product' to hold something in place during assembly or greased the rotating assembly for some reason, I can see this happening.

I don't think you're going to get much traction from Lexus, Toyota but gl.

That thread seems like acid rain/industrial waste or copious amounts of salt attacking it. And when I hinted at grease leaving stains, I guess I wasn't wrong.

Either way, this seems environmental vs wide spread issue. What environment is this car parked in day and night? Is it near an industrial site and if so, what kind?

My car is parked in a garage at night and in an underground parking at work. No industrial site.

I also had what appeared to be grease stains that I removed with bug and tar remover.
