Default Turn signals not flashing when locking but flashes when unlocking

I have a strange issue. When I go to lock the car, either by pressing the door handle switch or key lock, The turn signal lights dont flash as they used to. But when unlocking they do flash. However when locking there is definately something going on because I can hear the car lock then immediately after it has locked, I can hear its almost like it tries to lock again.

Any idea what I can check?

Do they blink 2 times when unlocking? Do all the doors lock / unlock properly? Also, for every door, check if its locked immediately after you press the lock button, before you hear that second sound. Then try holding both lock and unlock keys for few second to change the all doors / only driver's door unlocking mode. That changes how the circuit works, so see if that changes anything. Then try your standard disconnect-the-battery procedure to reset the ECU.
