Default Buy another IS or get a GS?

So I currently own a 2006 Is350. I bought it about 2yrs ago with some issues and pretty much knew just talking to the previous owner before I bought it that it had been neglected it a bit. In spite of that it hasn’t given me too much trouble to this point(I’ve basically had every common issue come to a head while I’ve owned it) but I’m at the point where I’m done putting any more money into the car and would like to move on from this one at least.

With that being said I really have enjoyed this car and I recently found one with just over 100k(mine is at 185k). I haven’t looked at it in person but the car looks pristine in the pics. Even the dash and door panels look like they were replaced because they don’t look sticky in the pics.

My question is, let’s assume they got replaced under Lexus warranty back in 2017(car Im looking at is an 07), will this issue arise again? Considering that was 6yrs ago and I never found what I thought was a good cost effective solution for this problem I’d rather not have to deal with it again. So does anyone know if Lexus just slapped on the same parts under the recall or did they upgrade them?

My other option would be to just move into a 2013+ GS350. It would be the more expensive option though so I’d like to gather as much info as possible before making a decision.

What would you guys do? Any input would be highly appreciated.

didn't someone on here had their sticky dash replaced during the recall and sticky dash happened again not too long after, I would just get a GS, at least it is a newer 4th gen GS and have next gen lexus materials.

Have you looked into the 2009 + IS, they don't have the problem of sticky or melting dash and panels. The early 2013 -14 model GS have a problem of shrinking leather on the door panels and center console, though there are some which don't suffer this problem.
I have a 2012 IS350 SE, and planning on getting GS350 or NX and my second lexus vehicle

I have a 2013 and had the claim notice sent to me. The car has no issues and I let it expire as it couldn't be used.

If I were looking, I'd be looking for something newer.

He did mentionmentioned that he wasn't looking for something expensive. Something newer will obviously cost more.
