Default Suspension Issue

So first and foremost i will say i did take it in to a shop to have them look at it (not lexus as they are booked solid currently).

So my car makes a loud metal on metal clink sound when i push the breaks even lightly and makes a rattle clunk kinda sound when hitting bumps. The shop said that the only thing wrong is a strut.

Does this seem right? I haven't been able to get under there and look as of yet... and for the rattle clunk sound when hitting bumps.. sure i guess that makes sense.... But the loud metal on metal clink when hitting the breaks, i just don't see how a bad strut is making that noise.

Anyone have any input or experience with similar?

Edit: this is the front passenger side

If you have the ability, jack up the right front and then wiggle the front wheel. First left to right and then top to bottom. If you hear something rattling you may need a buddy to see what is moving. Also pop the hood, remove the pretty panels from the engine bay and make sure all 6 nuts are tight that secure the struts.
