Default Made it to Half Million!!

After 16yrs, finally made it to 500,000 KM!! (~310,000 Miles) Never had a car that lasted this long, what a workhorse!!
No major issues, mostly tires, brakes, countless oil changes (Walmart Supertech Full Synthetic), Spark Plugs changed at 150,000km and never changed again, i'm amazed the plugs lasted over 300k without issues.

Love the reliability of these Lexus's!!!

Its a 2007 IS250 AWD, its mostly highway. I must admit, it hasnt been well maintained. The suspensions are original and most likely needs replacing. Hubs were replaced around 200k, still havnt replaced the water pump, still original, i figured if its not broke, dont touch it LOL.
The radio/nav glitches every now and then, i have to cycle power several times to get it to work (most likely shorted somewhere, i accidentally left the roof open TWICE during a rain storm, flooded the interior../cry../sigh).

So mostly just brakes, tires and oil changes.

PS.. i baby my 2019 NX more since its newer, that one is already at 105,000km and no issues with that one so far.

Also gives me hope on my 06 IS250. I'm at the tender mileage of 171,000kms.

Did you do any carbon cleaning?

I wish more high-mileage owners came back to report this.

I have 105,500 on my 2011 IS250 (RWD 6MT). Getting 200,000 km without major repair (besides clutch) would be awesome.

I'm not familiar with this carbon cleaning, are you referring to fuel injector gas additives?

after the first few years, its never been to the dealer since, except for 1 recall many years ago, dont remember what it was.

I got a 2007 IS250 AWD too! Give me hope that I don't need to buy another car. Currently around 180,000 miles.

What about exhaust system ? I am very surprised you didn't mention anything about it. Have you ever change transmission oil ?
Have a nice day, and thanks to share your experience wth your IS250AWD

I replaced an O2 sensor i think in Year 4 or 5, couple of the flanges in the exhaust rusted out, had a muffler shop replaced those, the mufflers, cat, pipes all original, cat heat shield rusted out, i just tied it in place with some wires cuz it was rattling, another heat shield rusted out, I left it out.

The Tranny oil is original, same with the coolant, i bought a thermostat 10 yrs ago meaning to install it, never got around to that, changed the accessory belt once, at 150,000km, old belt still looked ok.

As for Gas, first 6-7 yrs was mostly mid grade, last few years been alternating from Premium and Regular at costco, no reason, just whatever my mood was LOL!

My commute is about 200+ km per day, mostly in cruise control, I know i should maintain it better, but still quite impressed with how reliable and durable these Lexus's are.
