Headlight DOT/SAE Approved? DRL?
Hey guys, new to Lexus platform.
I'm currently in the middle of importing a 2008 Lexus IS350 RHD from Japan.
In order to get it insured here in BC (Canada), it needs to go through an out-of-province inspection and some of the things they look for are SAE/DOT approved front headlights (should have it written on them) and DRLs.
I was wondering if these features come stock with the 2IS.
Thanks!

Some of the above has been obviously updated such as tail lights have to always be one etc. but most of it applies to you including DRL. Every Toyota and Lexus in Canada has DRL since about 1990. If you end up needing new headlights best option will be to get CAPA certified.

The DRLs on the 2008 IS350 were just the high beam halogen headlights operating at half power. On the US spec cars (and probably JDM too), the DRL functionality can be disabled with the Techstream scan tool; I believe I've read here that the ability to disable DRLs is not available on cars sold in Canada.
