I have requested the IS300 as my loaner next week when my SC goes in for the timing belt change. I have always wanted to do a burnout, but have never had the ***** to do it in a vehicle I own. Got any tips to help me do this in an IS300?

the loaner most likely doesn't have lsd, so you can only do one wheel burnout if you want.... just powerbrake and floor the car. turn of tcs first

 

I can break them loose in reverse
I found that out by accident.

Thanks! I'll see if I can record it with my digital camera. I downloaded a guy burning out in his C32 a month ago and it was awesome! Chunks of tread were sprayed on the lower rear quarter panels! If you want it, let me know and I'll email it to you as an attachement.

Why do you want to tear up a perfectly good car by doing burnouts.....even if it isn't yours? All you accomplish is using a lot of gas, shredding rubber off the tires, stressing out the transmission, U-joints, and driveline.....and maybe getting yourself a well-deserved ticket.

u make a good point... on the same note.. why buy a lexus? why not just buy a toyota and call it a day? why buy louis vuitton? and not buy gap? why buy a ferrari only to leave it in the garage collecting dust all day? why drift? when u can take the turn at 10 mph and safe? lol....

 

A good friend of mine couldn't understand me, and asked why do I mod my car. I told him , "for the same reason why you climb mountains".

PS - Jayson, left foot on the brake, right foot rev the gas up to 2k rpm, lift the brake and punch the gas. Do IS's have VSC ?? If yes, then make sure to turn that off.

No, flipside, with all due respect, you're wrong on this one. I understand your point about it not being "my" choice...new or "used"...and on that point you are correct. But I consider it unethical to deliberately stress out or tear up a street car for no reason...rental, loaner, or otherwise. I have seen people do this on test-drives when the salesman was not present. Do I also need to add that in all 50 states and D.C., driving legally is a privilidge, not a right? Licenses can be and often are suspended for this type of behavior. I certainly would not want a car that has been stressed out....I don't hink you would either. I simply try and show a little consideration for others, too, not just myself. If more people did, this forum.....and the used car market... would be a lot more civilized.
