I hope this is the proper place for an introduction...I live in middle Tn. Retired Boilermaker. After owning several convertibles, motorcycles, jeeps etc. I recently bought an 02 SC430 w/55K on the clock. I've put a thousand on it by now and am enjoying it to the fullest. I wanted to hang out here and learn what I can about these cars. I will have to say, it is pleasurable to drive, more so than anything I've owned in my 73 yrs.'
Does that big V8 engine actually have a timing belt? All I can see is a serpentine belt much like any other vehicle. I will need some time to figure out how to put up a photo.

As Solar mentioned, this section isn't for the SC, but here is the forum for your make/model/year and probably where you'll find better answers about the timing belt. I know our engines on the 02 IS300 have a timing belt.

BTW...My car is pearl white with light beige interior, or it may be called taupe.
